SHELLEY PARK TENNIS CLUB

The sole aim of our club is for everyone to enjoy themselves when they come down to play tennis, whether it is with a friend, a club session or a coaching lesson.

The members are friendly, relaxed and happy to help anyone interested in joining.

If you are worried about your standard, then don’t be, we have a professional coach and assistant coach on hand to help who are available for individual or group lessons.

Friendly doubles and singles matches are held throughout the summer with a competitive singles league for those who want a more challenging game.

New for 2003  -  Affiliation to the LTA. 3 teams entered into national leagues.  Wimbledon ballot. 2 grass tennis courts.

The facilities are located in one of the boroughs most picturesque parks with its beautiful mature trees, open spaces and children’s play area.

The three hard courts are lovely to play on as the run back is very generous.  

The clubhouse has a Ladies and Gentleman’s changing room and a cafι with indoor and outdoor seating areas.

If your strings need replacing or break then a re-stringing service is available.

Car parking and a Putting green on site.

We are only a few hundred yards from the cliff top and after a few hours tennis you could even brave a swim.

On the social side, we run several events each year including barbecues, Italian nights, ten-pin bowling, cricket matches and lots more. We’ve even been to Splashdown at Tower Park.

If you’d like to be involved competitively then we have a singles league, club tournament and friendly matches against other clubs.

Subscriptions due on 1st April each year.

Included in your membership are the following benefits:

  1. Club sessions on Saturday Aternoon 2pm-4pm and Wednesday evening 7pm – 9pm (summer)

  2. Free use of tennis courts (booking system applies)

  3. Free use of tennis balls in club sessions and when playing other club members on a casual basis.

  4. Free entry into singles league. (However, if matches are not played, players will be dropped and charged to re-enter).
